Obituary of John Forbes

John Forbes III, 49, of Washington Township, NJ, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, April 23, 2007.

 

Born: On March 30, 1958 in Birmingham, Ala., he was a son of the late Douglas and Elizabeth Forbes.

 

Personal: John had previously resided in Westfield, NJ where he had graduated from Westfield High School, Class of 1976. He was an elevator constructor worker with Schindler Elevator Co., Morristown, NJ, for 25 years, retiring in 2003. He had enjoyed collecting antiques and Zippo lighters.He was of the Catholic faith.

 

Memberships: John was a member of the IUEC Local 1; the Pohatcong Memorial VFW Men's Auxiliary Post 6701; the Sons of the American Legion Post 209; and was a member of the Harley Owner's Group (HOG) of New Jersey.

 

Survivors: John is survived by his companion, Karen D'Amanda; a sister, Anne Forbes of Springfield; two brothers, Andrew of Springfield, and Malcolm of Florida; a goddaughter, Samantha, and her brothers, James and John.

 

Services: Visitation will be Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, 234 West Washington Avenue, Washington, NJ. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. with Fr. Blaise Baran officiating at the funeral home. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Warren Hills/Ford Memorial Home, Washington, NJ.
