How Do You Feel When You Come Home to Westfield?
We were so fortunate to grow up in such a beautiful town. Westfield was safe, clean, and welcoming. You couldn't walk through downtown without running into someone you knew—usually several people!
Over the years, stores came and went. Familiar storefronts disappeared, replaced by new businesses and changing times. But one landmark seemed to endure through it all: the good old Rialto.
For many of us, returning to Westfield meant revisiting old memories. Maybe we'd stop downtown, walk past familiar buildings, or even catch a movie at the Rialto. The theater was showing its age, but somehow the popcorn smelled just the same. And for generations, it remained the place to go on a Saturday evening.
As the years passed, we wondered what would eventually become of that old movie theater. Would it be demolished? Would another modern storefront take its place? Would one more piece of our childhood disappear forever?
What we never imagined was that someone would have the vision, determination, and commitment to bring the Rialto back to life—not simply as a movie theater, but as something even greater.

A place for live performances, cultural conversations, and hands-on learning. A place where new generations can make their own memories, just as we made ours.
Westfield gave us something special. For many of us, it was home for the most formative years of our lives. And even if we've moved hundreds or thousands of miles away, a little piece of Westfield has stayed with us.
Now we have an opportunity to give something back.
The goal is to raise $3 million by year's end to secure substantial funding from the State of New Jersey and help make this remarkable transformation possible.
Will Westfield reach that goal without our help? Perhaps. But imagine what it would mean if those of us who grew up there came together to help preserve a landmark that meant so much to so many.
This isn't just about saving an old building. It's about honoring our past while creating something wonderful for the future—not only for Westfield, but for the surrounding communities as well.
Please consider making a donation. And imagine the pride and excitement we'll feel when we walk through the doors of the restored Rialto, knowing we played a part in making it happen.
What a wonderful way to give back to the town that gave us so much.
